Postcard Friendship Friday - Cape Leeuwin LightHouse

The is my 2nd trip to Perth, Augusta. First trip with my wife and as you can see from the photo above, with my son. One of the unique features of this place is that it is the area where the Indian and the Southern Oceans meets. Very beautiful place and not to mention, very windy. Lighthouse was built in 1895 and took 1 year to complete.

Original idea was the lighthouse was mooted in 1881. The light was totally manually operated until 1982 when it was converted to electricity replacing the clockwork mechanism & kero burner, one of the last in the world. This light was automated in September 1992. The tower has seven floors and 186 steps.

Guilin - Simpliy Scenic

My Parents were full of praise for this place, China's Guilin. Looking at the photos, I can imagine why. China Guilin is one of the upcoming tourist attractions in Southern China. The attractions of Guilin includes Green hills (as you can see here), caves and crystal clear water. On closer look at some of the photos, they do look clear with a greenish tone. Nice.

Dawn in Singapore

Photo taken on a moving taxi on the way to Singapore Changi Airport. The vast array of colours on the sky near dawn is an inspiration to look at.

Dog (for?) Food

Photo taken in China
Frankly not my idea of a meal.. if you know what I am referring to. My parents took this photo in their travels. I really think its a mindset issue as some animals are just not meant to be "golden brown" (in foodie terms or cooking terminology). Termed as man's best friend, in this case, that term as taken a new meaning. I prefer to stay to the conservative for food : )

Grasshopper

Photo taken at Sebana Cove Resort, Malaysia

Spotted this grasshopper on the way to the room. Took this with a point and shoot camera on zoom. I though the results was quite good considering the equipment i have, sunlight was aplenty and that could be a helpful factor. Nice details on the grasshopper : )

Duck's Butts

Photo taken in China, Guilin
My mum took this very delightful photo of ducks showing off their butts. Indeed one of those Kodak moments photos.
